Stabaek Fotbol was one of three clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Lennart Johansson Academy Trophy 2016. They participated with three teams in Boys 2003, Boys 2002 and Girls 2002 respectively. Three teams played until 7-8 in Play-off; Boys 2002 won over Chelsea FC by 2-0, Boys 2003 lost against Paok FC by 1-4 and Girls 2002 lost against Oulu Nice Soccer by 0-1.

In addition to this, Stabaek Fotbol have participated in Lennart Johansson Academy Trophy before. During Lennart Johansson Academy Trophy 2015, Stabaek Fotbol had two teams playing in Boys 2002 and Boys 2001 respectively. Two teams played until 7-8 in Play-off; Boys 2001 won over FC Twente by 5-1 but Boys 2002 lost against AIK by 0-3.

Stabaek Fotbol comes from Bærum which lies approximately 420 km from Solna, where Lennart Johansson Academy Trophy takes place. Other than Stabaek Fotbol, the club Oslo Fotbollkrets does also originate from the area around Bærum.
